Not all internships are created equal. Often the larger (and more "prestigious") firm you end up at, the more menial your responsibilities are, and the less actual real world accounting experience you receive. 
 
But at Watson Mowry we offer a different internship experience. 
 
  • Here you will apply tax principles to actual tax returns. 
  • Here you will interact directly with firm partnership and receive valuable insights and education. 
  • Here you will be part of a small but talented team of CPA’s and EA’s working a real-life tax season

Our smaller size and personalized approach allows you to have actionable experiences that will pay dividends when you are out and looking for that first job (maybe even with us, many of our best interns love our culture so much, they apply after graduation- and we hire 100% of them).

WHERE IS WATSON MOWRY LOCATED?

Watson Mowry is a leading CPA firm located in Williamsburg, Virginia.

WHAT WILL I PRIMARILY LEARN WHILE AT WATSON MOWRY? 

We are looking for students who are interested in taxation. We will teach you to prepare individual tax returns, and you will actually prepare returns during the season. We have a training session or two on Saturdays in January, as well.

WHAT IS THE TIME COMMITMENT?

We ask for a commitment of approximately 18-20 hours a week from February 1st to April 15th. We prefer three six-hour blocks of time a week, and we do work on Saturdays, so that can be one of the blocks. You would need to schedule your spring classes to have the correct blocks of time. We are open 8AM-8PM in tax season, so there are many blocks to choose from.

IS THIS INTERNSHIP PAID?

Yes, this is a paid internship!

WHAT IS YOUR DRESS CODE?

The dress code during your internship will be business casual.

WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THE FREE FOOD AGAIN?

While we are working long days in tax season, we offer free catered lunches!
